Having previously been at Ernst and Young and in working in social housing consultancy, Jonathan has been at the Regulator since 2004. He has worked across the organisation and has extensive experience in dealing with funders, government and Registered Providers.

Jonathan joined Birketts in April 2020 as a Partner in the Social Housing Team, focusing on expanding the practice in various regions of the UK, including London, the Midlands, and the South East. His expertise lies in landlord and tenant issues, housing management dispute resolution, disrepair claims, Building and Fire Safety regulations, and service charge disputes. Jonathan collaborates with fellow Partners Pete Goddard and John Scannell to provide top-notch service to social housing clients. Recognized as an expert in housing and leasehold management law, Jonathan advises on best practices, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with social housing regulator standards. He is highly regarded by clients, having represented them in notable cases, including those in the Supreme Court. Jonathan is also known for delivering client training events on topics such as the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 and the Building and Fire Safety Bills.
