Matt Cooney

Chief Executive, Community Housing Group

Matt joined Community Housing in September 2020 and has led the development of a new Corporate Plan that aims to transform customer perception and generally improve the performance of the business with customer service as its core focus.

Matt has considerable experience of working in housing, and since moving to the Midlands in 2000, joined Solihull Council as Deputy Director. He helped to establish North Solihull Regeneration which helped transform the area and then led the team that established Solihull Community Housing (SCH) and became its first Chief Executive. SCH was the first housing service to be awarded 3 stars with excellent prospects for improvement by the Audit Commission in the West Midlands. Matt was Chief Executive of Asra and helped transform it from a poorly performing housing association into one with high customer satisfaction. He then became Chief Operating Officer of PA Housing following the merger between Asra and Paragon, leading the integration of the two businesses. Prior to joining Community Housing, Matt was working for Surrey County Council to improve the performance of their Land & Property Team.

Clare Durnin

Executive Director – Corporate Resources, Platform Housing Group

Clare is a Fellow of the CIPD, a qualified coach and has over 30 years’ HR experience gained in both public and private sector organisations. Having worked in the affordable housing sector for the past 12 years, Clare’s role has developed beyond HR and as Executive Director (Corporate Resources) at Platform Housing Group, she is also responsible for overseeing Employee Health and Safety, Payroll, Learning and Organisational Development, Strategy, Business Excellence, Customer Experience, Communications, Governance and Compliance.

Lindsey Shorricks

VP of Human Resources, Dovetail Games

Lindsey is currently the VP of HR within Dovetail Games, a gaming simulation company in Kent. Prior to this Lindsey has spent 20 years in HR roles spanning various industries, sectors and size organisations. Prior to joining Dovetail she spent 3 and a half years at Golding Homes, a Housing Association in Maidstone Kent where she was the Assistant Director of HR and Communications supporting the Board and Executive lead the people, culture and communication strategies. A key part of her career was spent in professional services where she was for 12 years in the Big 4 leading resource management teams across the UK & Ireland.

Her passion is people and seeing the impact which motivated, engaged and invested in colleagues can have on an organisation. A lot of her work of recent years has been spent looking at culture and the full colleague lifecycle ensuring people policies and practices drive a happy, engaged and high performing organisation. She is qualified in training assessment, delivery, psychometric testing and most recently gained her Insights Practitioner accreditation which she uses to drive high performing executive and leadership teams.

Claire Howe

Executive Director – Corporate Services, B3Living

Claire is Executive Director of Corporate Services at B3Living, a medium-sized housing association in Hertfordshire.  Having discovered the social affordable housing sector in 1999, she has never left!  After initially gaining experience in delivering front-line services for a large London housing association, she has specialised in leading support teams, with senior leadership experience in both communications and HR.  Having gained postgraduate qualifications in both housing practice and housing leadership, she is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.  She is committed to making a difference wherever she can to the customers that live in social housing properties, as well as the staff that deliver homes and services to them.  She is passionate about promoting inclusion and reducing stigma in the sector as well as advocating housing organisations as great places to pursue a varied and rewarding career.
