The Chairs’ Challenge: A Transformative Drive or Mere Window Dressing?

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion | Date: Tuesday 06 February 2024 | 10:00AM – 12:00PM

Has your Board signed up to the Chairs’ Challenge yet? A revealing National Housing Federation (NHF) survey found that many boards are unclear how to champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Leading to the creation of the NHF’s Chairs’ Challenge’; a public commitment to scrutinise current EDI credentials and openly develop a compelling future vision. It’s supposed to take organisations beyond superficial box-ticking and really probe the authenticity of their EDI initiatives. But at Connex, we want to ask some hard questions stemming from this: is signing up merely Chairs keeping up appearances? What metrics will genuinely evaluate the effectiveness of EDI initiatives in their early stages? Will The Chairs’ Challenge actually change anything for the better, and by when? Join us at this roundtable when we tackle the Chairs’ Challenge head on and establish a concrete foundation for the next wave of EDI transformation in housing organisations today.
