Ashley G. Cooper

Director, Catalyst Growth Partners

Ashley is Co-Founder and Director of Catalyst Growth Partners (CGP) a “Smart Capital” provider of expertise and funding, working with innovative businesses and positive people in a range of disruptive technology sectors including AI driven business intelligence, Crypto security, Insurance Fraud detection, Career development, Innovation collaboration, Digital Accountancy, Clean Energy, Cell Therapy, Asset Management and Social Gaming. His focus is around building High Performing Teams to deliver disruptive propositions in rapidly scaling markets.

Ashley is an approved Lead Investor for the Angels Invest Wales Angel platform and has lead two deals utilising the Angels Invest Wales co-fund to invest alongside an experienced Angel syndicate.

Ashley holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and is a Chartered Director CDir from the Institute of Directors. He is Chair of the Board of the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Program and is a co-Founder of the Inspire Wales investment consortium. In 1995 he Co-Founded TES Aviation Group an aircraft engine asset management, trading and leasing business which he grew to $200M at 10% EBITDA margin based on 3 continents employing 150 people. After selling his final shareholding in 2012 he led the business as CEO for a further 2 years before founding Catalyst Growth Partners in 2014.

Ian McDermott

Chief Executive Officer, Peabody Group

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in the housing sector.

Before joining Peabody, Ian was the CEO at Catalyst Housing, Chief Executive at Aldwyck Housing Group and Chief Operating Officer at Sanctuary Group.

Ian has also held Chief Executive positions at both Shaftesbury Housing Group and Stonebridge Housing Action Trust. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, a Chartered Surveyor and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Jane Porter

Chief Operations Officer, Optivo

Jane is the Chief Operating Officer at Optivo. Throughout her career in housing, she has held senior executive roles in housing management, asset management, development and home ownership.

Jane is passionate about delivering excellent customer services. She has achieved sector leading performance through the use of real time data, segmentation and customer insight. She has driven continuous improvement and efficiencies through her vision and enthusiasm for technology solutions including predictive analytics, RPA, AI, IoT and bots.

Jane is a member of the MHCLG Stay Put Strategy Technical Steering Group; RSH Sounding Board on Tenant Satisfaction Measures; NHF South East Standing Board and was a Member of the MHCLG Social Sector (Building Safety) Resident Engagement Best Practice Group which is mentioned in the Housing White Paper.

Graham Atkins

Managing Partner for Leadership Consulting, New Street Consulting Group

Graham leads the consultancy at people advisory firm, New Street Consulting Group, heading up three divisions i) a research group who provide insight for leading companies like Netflix and Spotify ii) a leadership consultancy (formerly respected brand Wickland Westcott) who excel at the very top of the house in major organisations like Diageo and Grant Thornton and iii) an organisational advisory team who accelerate people and organisational performance.

Graham’s consulting expertise is with Boards, Executive Teams and individuals in the fields of organisational strategy, enterprise leadership, culture and change. Following training as an Army Officer and policy/strategy specialist in the public sector, his MBA in 2002 opened his eyes to the vagaries and complexities of people – and he hasn’t looked back since. Prior to joining NSCG he was a Senior Partner at Korn Ferry, with responsibility for Top Team Performance and Practice Leadership. Prior to that he was a Shareholder Director of Hay Group leading their business with the UK Government, part of which was running all executive development for the Senior Civil Service.
