Dr Elizabeth Haywood

Non-Executive Director, Natural Resources Wales 

Elizabeth is currently Chair of the Independent Remuneration Board of the Welsh Parliament, and a Board member of Natural Resources Wales where she chairs its Flood Risk Management Committee. 

She was previously a Board member of Scottish Power Energy Networks, Hendre Group and the charity Leonard Cheshire and an independent member of the Welsh Audit Office’s Remuneration Board, and inaugural Chair of WCVA Services Ltd. She also chaired the Welsh Government’s Ministerial Task Force on City Regions.

Her early career was spent in the European Parliament and the Welsh Development Agency, before being appointed Director of CBI Wales, Communications Director of the Association of Train Operating Companies and then running an executive search firm based in London.

She has a degree from Cardiff University, a PhD and an honorary doctorate from Swansea, was the recipient of the first Welsh Woman of the Year Award and is an honorary Fellow of Trinity St David’s University.

In April Elizabeth published her first book, ‘Lucy: Ultimate Survivor’, a historical novel about her great, great, great grandmother.

Maureen Hopcroft

Group Board Member, Chair of People and Organisational Development Committee, Salvation Army Housing Association

Maureen is a technology and change expert with non-executive experience in the housing and charity sectors.

She honed her technology career at a global healthcare provider and a management consultancy. As an independent consultant she has delivered outcomes across the affordable housing sector from G15 landlords to more specialist providers.

 Maureen is a Board member of saha and a trustee of Women’s Solace Aid. She sits on the National Housing Federation’s Board member group for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and is a member of BMENational and Olmec’s Black on Board community.    

Ben Laryea

Chief Executive, Ekaya Housing

Ben has worked in the sector for over 30 years. He is Chief Executive of Ekaya Housing Association, which provides housing and support services primarily to black and ethnic minority women, their families and groups with similar needs.

He has acted as an independent housing professional, supporting organisations through change and service transformation, and worked as a mentor to address the lack of diversity at senior management level within the sector.

Ben is a Board Member of Dolphin Living and The Guinness Housing Partnership, and Chair of BME London Landlords.

Hannah (Weight) Manyewu

Hannah Manyewu

Executive Director – Customer, Paradigm Housing

Hannah is Executive Director – Customer at Paradigm Housing. She is passionate about providing excellent homes and services, as a stable platform for peoples’ lives. 

Hannah has worked in the social affordable housing sector for 21 years, in a range of leadership roles for national and London-based G15 landlords. This includes leading customer and property operations, as well as transformation and business improvement.

Her experience ranges Not-For Profit and For-Profit organisations, as well as local authority. 

Hannah is looking herself to get into a non-executive director role in the next few years.
