Carol Carter

Chief Executive Officer, Origin Housing

Carol Carter joined Origin as Chief Executive in April 2017. She has over 40 years’ experience in a wide range of roles and organisations across the housing sector with experience in driving organisational change and delivering high-quality services to residents; effective and efficient housing and property management and community investment; ensuring value for money and building strong external partnerships.

Prior to joining Origin, Carol was Group Director of Housing for six years at Hyde with responsibility for managing 50,000 homes. Previously she worked for a range of housing associations, inner London and rural local authorities, as well as a three year period in consultancy, including experience at Savills.

Carol has chaired the National Housing Federation’s executive advisory group – the London Leaders Forum – since 2017.

She holds a degree in Social Science and the Professional Qualification of the Institute of Housing.

Violet Pugh

Digital Marketing Manager, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing

Winner of the 2021 ‘Woman of the Year’ award for Women in Housing, Violet is high energy leader driven by the desire to make a real difference. With over 10 years’ experience delivering marketing and communications for award winning property and retail brands, she is passionate about creating compelling and meaningful customer experiences that deliver lasting connections to a brand and help transform the marketplace. Alongside her day-to-day role as a Digital Marketing Manager, Violet heads up the ethnicity colleague network group at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, where she plays an active role in improving the lived experience of colleagues in the workplace to enhance employee engagement, performance, and culture.

Carlotta Zorzi

Strategic Partnerships at Shopify and Tech Career Coach at School16

Carlotta Zorzi is a tech partnerships professional and a startup advisor, tech career coach and public speaker. Carlotta is currently on the Board of ESCG Hasting College and fit-tech startup Forte App. Motivated by her background, Carlotta is also an active advocate for the democratisation of the tech industry – energy that she channels through her role as a Tech Career Coach for School16 and her mentoring efforts for networks like Bloom UK. Carlotta is also a visiting professor for the University of Sussex and between 2021 and 2022 she was a winner of the TechWomen100 Award by WATC, Woman in Tech by Lead5050, Emerging Leader by ForwardLadies, Mentor of the Year by Women of the Future Programme – and was listed on the INvolve HERoes Role Models List.

Sarah Stevenson

Director, Social Housing Practice, New Street Consulting Group

Sarah leads the social housing practice at NSCG where she connects her clients with flexible talent that helps deliver substantive and sustainable change; shaping their organisations for the changing requirements of the customer base. As a business psychologist with over 20 years’ experience, she works closely with clients to find and develop the right people to drive business outcomes.
