James is an award-winning leader and social innovator, with 20 years’ experience in strategic and operational management in UK social housing and local government.  He is Neighbourhood Director of the Lancaster West Estate, co-designing the refurbishment of 800 homes following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, and aiming to all homes are carbon-neutral by 2030. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and regular conference speaker.

Award winning Senior Level Executive with over 15 years experience in the renewable energy industry working in large, multi-national corporations and multiple successful start ups. – Professional with great understanding of the end to end business model of renewable energy projects from source, engineering, procurement, construction, management & route to market. 

International business experience with energy projects focused on developed and emerging countries in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean with private industry and governments, developing financeable renewable energy project solutions.

Sam Monger

Director of Special Projects, Grosvenor Group

Sam is Director of Special Projects at Grosvenor Group, a privately owned property group, active in some of the world’s most dynamic cities. He is currently leading a strategic project to explore opportunities to create a new area of focus for Grosvenor, seeking to improve outcomes for low income households in the places where we are active, with a particular focus on the needs of children and young people. Until recently, he was UK Director of Strategy and Research, a role which included leading strategic planning, market analysis, customer analysis, financial appraisal and risk analysis across the business. Recent priorities have included creating an innovation capability within Grosvenor and developing Grosvenor’s strategy for delivering social impact. He also recently led development of a strategic plan setting out a quantified pathway to net zero carbon for Grosvenor’s UK property portfolio. 

Outside Grosvenor, Sam is a key member of Real Estate Balance’s Policy and Campaigns Committee, in which capacity he led the creation, execution and analysis of an annual survey of members highlighting the challenges of improving gender diversity in the UK real estate sector. The findings of this survey have been shared with CEOs across the sector and were critical in shaping REB’s overall strategy. Sam also sits on the British Property Federation’s Technology & Innovation Working Group which seeks to help members develop effective approaches to digital transformation. Prior to joining Grosvenor in 2011, Sam spent 17 years working in management consultancy at PwC and IBM, mainly advising corporate occupiers in a range of sectors on property strategy and business transformation.

Bunmi Atta MRICS

Director of Construction, Optivo

Bunmi has over 30 years’ experience in the sector to her name. In her current role, she’s a member of the leadership team at Optivo and has responsibility for a development programme which delivers 1,500 homes a year in London, Kent, Sussex and the Midlands – not to mention being responsible for an annual budget in excess of £1billion. Bunmi is responsible for the Optivo newbuild technical function covering pre-construction and onsite compliance, along with oversight of the aftercare function. She was a member of the Mayors Skills for Londoners Construction Committee and a proud member of the National Housing Federation, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Group. 

She’s previously held Development Director roles in AmicusHorizon; worked for Family Housing Association and Carr Gomm. She is a speaker at various conferences, workshops and debates – demonstrating a desire to share knowledge and experience. Bunmi is pleased to hold the position of NED for Christian Action Enfield HA. Bunmi is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS). She also holds a degree and PG Dip in Town Planning.
